Typography meets knitting in this hands-on design & make workshop.
Using traditional techniques on domestic knitting machine, you can design a unique letter-form in pixels, and then manufacture it as a physical knitting pattern sample to take home.
Building on the tradition of self-publishing and pattern-sharing within the knitting community, the designs and workshops have been documented and compiled in the form of a pattern-zine.
Alphaknit was originally developed as part of the Maker Difference programme and delivered across Liverpool Libraries.
